2018 Year in Review

2018 was a year! I'm glad it's over, I'm thankful for where I'm at and I'm excited to see what's next. Prayer and God's word got me through.

My Favourite Moments of 2018

It’s definitely been the year of Facebook groups. I discovered two wonderful communities. One with other young wives. The second from a favourite podcast Sorta Awesome.

After a comment on my blog asked me to guest post on their now defunct blog. I also was going to be a regular contributor to the site but unfortunately, that never happened. However, I did end up learning about Qkids and taught with them for one month before deciding it was not working.

The Facebook hangout group for Sorta Awesome has provided so many fun tips and helpful life advice.

I also started a Facebook page for this blog. I’ve always been hesitant to do that because I write for a very specific audience and I get nervous about sharing my blog with people who know me. However I’m learning to be brave!

Personal Successes

I also published my first article on Her View From Home. This connected me with an incredible group of writers and has opened up my eyes to more ways to share my work and get paid.

On a personal note, I went away with my hubby for our 2 year anniversary. We bought our first house and my baby turned 1.

How I Made it Through This Year

This year has been full of ups and downs but prayer and God’s word has seriously gotten me through. In my lowest moments, I would force myself to the read the Psalms and afterwards my mind was in such a better place.
I also went on a lot of long walks with Lyla, listened to podcasts and brainstormed ideas for my creative passions (blogging, writing, YouTube, product ideas).
I don’t talk about this a lot but I have always loved entrepreneurship and business. One of my deepest desires is to stay home with my daughter while also running some type of business. I have a few ideas and hopefully, in 2019 they will be fully realized.

What I learned

This past year has taught me so much. Motherhood is continually teaching me to be selfless. The home buying process taught me to wait on God as He brought everything together and my marriage is showing me to love even when it’s hard.
